Brew Number 72

  • 5kg Dobee Orange blossom honey
  • 2 cinnamon sticks (crushed)
  • 8 cloves (crushed)
  • 1 tsp yeast nutrient.
  • Wyeast #4184 (Sweet Mead) (1st generation - 2008/11/07)

Was brought out to 23L. Used fermenter #1.

Notes
  • Boiled ~500mL water with honey and spices for ~25mins, skimmed scum off the top.
  • Strained out cinnamon using sieve when transferring to fermenter.
  • Used 400mL of the starter.
  • Temperature set at 21C
  • Used 160g of priming sugar.
  • Got 60 375mL bottles from 23L of mead.
